Taliban's Shadow: Is Afghanistan Incubating the Next Terrorist Threat?
Three years after the U.S. withdrawal and return of the Taliban to power, the specter of Afghanistan becoming a terrorist haven once again looms large.
The latest report from Islamabad-based Security Studies Center of Research (CRSS) indicates that Afghanistan experienced a surge in violence during the second quarter of 2024. Some 240 incidents of terror attacks and counter-terror operations resulted in 380 deaths and 220 injuries among civilians, security personnel, and suspected terrorists.
